What is RSS ingestion?
An RSS feed acts as a delivery system for your content. It keeps your episodes, show notes, and other details in one structured place. With RSS ingestion, you can pull this content directly into Audiorista, so your app stays organized and up to date.
Here’s what RSS ingestion can do:
- Import all available content from your feed
- Automatically fill in details like titles, descriptions, and artwork
- Give your users quick access to your latest podcasts
How to ingest an RSS feed
The RSS ingestion process depends slightly on your subscription plan, but the initial setup follows the same steps for everyone.
Step 1: Install the "Sync with Podcast" extension
- Go to the Extensions section in your Audiorista dashboard.
-
Under All, find the Sync with Podcasts extension and click Install.
3. The page will look like this
Step 2: Add your RSSfeed
Once the extension is installed:
- Click Add Podcast
- Name the Podcast
- Here, paste your RSS feed URL
- Now you need to click on the Sync Feed
- Your content is being synced; just don’t forget to hit Save Changes to apply everything.
Step 3: Sync your feed (Based on your plan)
-
Demo & Lite Plans:
RSS ingestion is manual and happens one time only once. If your RSS feed updates later, you’ll need to re-import the feed to bring in new content. -
Business & Enterprise Plans:
Regular automated syncing is available. Simply reach out to our support team to have syncing activated for your feed. This ensures your app stays updated with new episodes as they’re published.
Step 4: Preview your imported content
Once your RSS feed has been added and synced, it’s easy to check that everything looks the way you want:
- Go to the Content section in your Audiorista dashboard.
- Click on Titles.
- You’ll see all the content that was imported from your RSS feed listed here, including episodes, descriptions, and artwork.
This is a great way to make sure your content has been successfully imported and appears correctly in your app.
Tip: If you want to make further changes, you can always edit individual Titles or update their details from this section.
